Introduction
Shri Bhawani Niketan P.G. College (SBN) has a Career and Personal Counselling Cell for students. As per the guidelines and recommendation of UGC XI th plan, the Career and Personal Counselling Cell was established in our college. The Counselling Cell at Shri Bhawani Niketan P.G. College fosters the emotional, psychological, and academic well-being of students. It provides a confidential, safe, and supportive environment for students to seek guidance on personal, social, and academic challenges. The cell promotes mental health awareness and holistic development through individual and group counselling sessions, workshops, and seminars, empowering students with coping strategies and emotional intelligence to navigate college life with confidence and resilience.
Another goal of this cell is to make students aware of many job opportunities and also to train them through workshop, seminar and orientation programme in collaboration with some agencies or companies. Some of the students are offered job after such training by agencies. Counselling of students imparts to the students practical knowledge, confidence and a sense of social communication as well as responsibility and reshapes their views and visions. It also improves their overall wellbeing like academic, personal and social, emotional as well as intellectual development. The cell always supports the students to cope with serious mental health issues and build trust, commitment and understanding within them.
